So we've been up to a lot lately! We had a super busy weekend with family but it was a lot of fun. Cameo and BJ came up Thursday in route to Logan since they are looking for a nice place to live up there while BJ goes to grad school. Then they came back Saturday night and stayed the night. Abby and Jenise also came on Saturday and stayed through Monday with us. Our little house was overflowing with bodies. I was fine with it, I still got to sleep in my bed next to a beautiful girl!
We went to Lagoon one weekend with Sommer's work, Layton paid for most of our entrance and fed us. It was really fun, the craziest rides were the rocket re-entry and mostly Wicked. Sommer lost her voice from screaming so much.
Work is going well, I now work in "Digital Life" which is the computers, mp3 and camera section of Best Buy. I miss working with the super cool super spendy TVs but it is nice to be working here because it familiarizes myself with the entire store and makes me a more valued asset to the company. This last Sunday we had a big 2 hour meeting after the store closed. It was a meeting basically recapping the month and getting us some training, etc. At this meeting they also recognize 5 people as "All-Stars" and those people get a nice paper and movie ticket. Lucky me, I was an All-Star and scored a fancy paper along with the (more important) movie ticket. After that they took more time and gave me another award! I was the only one to get recognized twice!! The second time I got a gift card to Best Buy, not sure how much is on it....hopefully a bunch! The second recognition was for getting 25% of our stores credit card applications (which is a super good thing). It was nice to be recognized a bunch since the switch over to Digital Life wasn't the nicest surprise.
Sommer has a lot of things on her plate! She's working on a painting for the Western Idaho State Fair. She's working on all the furniture and even special orders for the The Vintage Bluebird, she works a full time job and she's my beautiful wife! She's amazing!
Last night for FHE we made our favorite meal from Olive Garden. Steak Gorgonzola, yum! We got the recipe off the internet. It was really a nice meal, I was pretty happy that it turned out so good! It took us a long time and even an extra trip to the grocery store mid-cooking. It was a fun memory and a definite repeat.
With the World Cup on daily it has been fun keeping up with our favorite teams. The worst part is that each team we've rooted for has already been kicked out :( First the USA lost to Ghana, boo. By the way we lost to Ghana last world cup and was eliminated because of them (and a couple bad refs). Then Mexico lost to Chile, they also were eliminated by Chile last world cup, boo. We even got Mexico jersey's from Mom and Dad (via Abby). So now it seems like I'll be rooting for Portugal. They play Spain today, so we'll see how bad they stomp Spain. I'd rather see Portugal take the world cup than Brazil...or any other country besides Brazil.
So today, Sommer and I are driving out to Logan. We're crazy, i know. We are helping Cameo and BJ find a house and I guess a new place came on the market since they were last up there and they want pictures. Since they are both unable to make it the job fell on us. I was going to be going up there alone but Sommer (being the awesome girl that she is) is taking a 1/2 day off work and coming with me.
Oh, so for Date night on Friday Sommer and my best friend's wife Kristen (Clay is my best bud)...anyway they got together over the phone and planned a fun night for Clay and I. The girls surprised us and played Halo with us. It was a lot of fun, kind of a nerd night but we had a lot of fun playing a 4 player game. It was a nice surprise and definitely a thoughtful one!
We went to Furburbia to look at the dogs the other day. (its a high end pound in Park City). We walked a timid dog around the outlet mall, and found some really really really cute puppies. We also found a very scary cat, at first we just thought it was upset, but then when it lashed out when we got closer we thought it was crazy.
What a nice post - makes me feel connected with all your goings-ons! And you guys can make Steak Gorgonzola? YUM- YUM- YUM!! And yes, we think you are both lucky kids to have each other!
ReplyDeleteLove the pics! Son... maybe you should stick to dogs - Zoe has networked and informed the cats of the world how you have tormented her over the years... BEWARE!! (I have to admit... that cat is scary!!)
