My Birthday

I just had the best birthday because my husband is so good to me! When we got home from school Chris had me pick one card at a time off of a table. Each led me on a different search with rhyming... or at least somewhat rhyming poems, from one clue to the next

My first treasure hunt lead me behind the painting Chris painted for me for Christmas, then to his main ingredient for cooking- in the pancake batter bag. I pulled out a box and inside a beautiful necklace. He remembered that I had mentioned that I like heart necklaces months ago.

The second treasure hunt lead me all around the place. This one was tougher. The last hints were: the BIG 60's, square, and middle....? I was so lost. I couldn't think of anything that we had from the 60's! We had to play hot and cold before I figured it out. It was under the "middle" "square" couch cushion. (Our couches are pretty old!) This surprise was a really cute dress, pink with white stripes. Chris was wearing a green striped shirt, so we got to match the rest of the day. I don't think he planned it... but it was "Matching Monday" (we try to match every Monday) and anyone would notice that we were matching.

We then got in the car to go to "Australia". Earlier in the day while we were in Business Statistics together he handed me a bunch of little pieces of paper with countries written on them. I picked Australia. Obviously we were not going to Australia, but I had no idea what was going on... until we pulled into the Outback Steakhouse. We ate dinner under some koala bears and by a giant kangaroo. I got to hear what the other options would have been.
  • Germany: Schlotskies
  • Italy: Johnny Carinos
  • Meridian: Mrs. Powells (the last name of my best friend)
  • Louisiana: Bubbas
  • Sicily: The Olive Garden
  • Texas: Texas Road House
It was really fun. I loved my birthday. The best gift was being able to spend the day with my husband on my Birthday.

I dedicate this

to Cameo.

I want to reflect on some memorable moments in my life with my sister Cameo.

When I think about the numerous memories with my oldest sister Cameo, I venture back into our childhood together. One of the most memorable was made one afternoon after school as Jenise, Cameo and I played hide and seek. We would play hide and seek in our house in Minnesota and would always try new places to hide. Being the youngest, I could fit into more spots than my older sisters and I remember one time I got stuck in our towel closet because the door shut and I was stuck where I couldn't reach the doorknob. The poin
t of this story was I had this toy chest in my bedroom. It was shape
d like a football and made of plastic. It held all my toys. I would take all the toys out and hide in there sometimes for hide and seek, but the girls never tried to fit....that is, until that fateful memorable day. We started the game and Cameo went and hid. She found my hiding spot and figured I wouldn't ever check. Well I never found her at least until I heard her beg for help. She had gotten stuck and couldn't get out. Mom ended up calling the fire department, but called them off when dad got home and shook her out. Good memories.

New Light Fixtures & Pictures

So my good buddy Matice showed me how to deck out the Blog! So trying to find one that Chris would also enjoy I picked one with snowflakes.

But we did get our camera back! So here are some pictures of our new light fixtures and some pictures we put up!

Catching up since we've been Married

This is our favorite picture from the reception. We have now been married for 46 days. Today Chris put up new light fixtures in the bathroom, dining room and bedroom. The dining room was like world war 5, but they are up and are looking great. We still do not have our camera back from my brother to take pictures of our place, hopefully soon.

School starts tomorrow. We bought books today for both of us... over $700! OUCH! To celebrate our last day of freedom we are going to our friends for huckleberry shakes and a competitive game of Settlers.

We're trying to pick our favorite pictures from Salt Lake, but have only gotten through 500 of the 800 pictures. We have so many empty picture frames. We're excited to get some good pictures.
