Zombocolypse

Some day, before the world really truly ends...it will end because of a zombie apocolypse.  We participated in a trial run of this.  We tried to help prepare our less than prepared locals idahotes for the "what will happen that day".  The 1st rule of surviving the zombocolypse is: cardio.  Being able to outrun the zombies is essential.

We dressed up as zombies and ran 5k.  There were survivors and zombies.  We dressed up as zombies and started 1 minute after the survivors.  As we passed a survivor I would make a growling/chomping noise to let them know they were dead and to train harder for the real zombocolypse.  We went with Mark and Natalie and had a blast.  We hadn't really trained for the run at all but we ended up having fun.  Here are some fun pics.

Photoshop for Beautiful Blooms

I have been itching to learn more on photoshop, so when Cameo needed flyers for her new business I was very excited to do some. These two are general flyers she can put up around town.

Cameo has a show along with a bridal boutique and a wedding cake shop. I made her 4 different flyers to hand out.
Obviously these are coupons. Let me know if you think its too busy Cameo.
Here is a 1/2 size flyer with 2 coupons
Hey Cam, here are some buttons I came up with so your buddies can put them on their sites. Let me know what you think.

Here is what a professional came up with for Cameo.... I think mine look cooler... but thats just me.

Hard Core Mountain Biking!

Okay... it might not be that hard core, but we went on a fun trail today. Chris and I (since Julie ditched us to go do some cattle rounding up on horseback at her roommates -- I would have ditched too) anyways, Chris and I went up towards Island Park and mountain biked today. It was really fun.

A friend at work recommended trails to me. So thats what we started out doing. What we didn't know was that the trails marked "easy" on the map were more like dirt roads... It was still fun, but there were A LOT of cows all over the road, and some of them did NOT want to move.
We passed a whole ton of them at one point. 3 or 4 were right in our way, but they ran off after a little coxing. After we got passed them we came to a fork in the path, so we stopped to see where to go. Then ALL OF THE SUDDEN all the cows decided to run right at us! I was freaking out, ready to ride outta there with or without Chris. He kept telling me to take a picture, yeah right! I didn't want to get trampled! They stopped right at the fork in the trail (we had moved by then) and I got a picture. There was like 20x's what the picture shows of cows... and imagine them all running right for you. I think most people would be terrified.

This was the lake that Julie went to in her mountain biking class. While waiting for the class to catch up she decided to take a swim. The teacher got there and said "Julie! Get out of there! Thats a bird sanctuary!"

On our round about way of getting over to the mountainous trails we had to go through some cattle fences. This one had a gate and a fence we had to take down. I felt just like the people on the Australian show I watch with the Greens when I stay with them in Pocatello.

We finally made it to the real trail riding. It doesn't get more intense than Heart Attack Hill! We were glad when we made it to the top. It was a STEEP ride. Going down always goes by too fast.

Chris had to get to work. So we took some back road instead of the trails back through the park. Chris threw the bikes over the fence and we were outta there.

Last week we went on an easy Sunday ride, we still had the bikes from the ride I went on with Julie. We went out by the BYU-Idaho livestock center and found a little trail to ride on. Chris had the most fun off the trail however.
This picture doesn't do this ledge justice. That thing was a monster. Here's Chris wheeling to get up it.

Mountain Biking!

Julie, Steven (awesome kid from Julie's mountain biking class), and I went mountain biking yesterday. It was so much fun! Poor Chris had to work all weekend, so he didn't get to come.

Before we left Julie and I had to rent bikes. Some other people had just rented a tandom bike. They let us take a ride. Steven and Julie road it just fine... but man did I have a hard time! Didn't help that Julie road right towards a parked car! Those things are hard to get started!
I noticed looking at all the pictures I took were at the parts that didn't have rocks & roots and skinny steep trails.... probably because for most of the time I was trying to survive. But it was a rocking fun trail! Would be a fun dirtbiking trail too. There were probably about 3 or 4 groups of dirbikers we ran into.
This is a good "we just started" picture. Notice how clean Julie is.
A couple of minutes after the beginning of the trail... yep we got real dirty!
About at this time I was just getting down how to shift. These bikes are machines! The only downer was the ORC only had HUGE bikes to rent. (I totally forgot to rent a helmet) So Julie rode the taller one. We nick-named them Everest and K2.

This was the end of the trail. Then we road up the road back to the car. I was exhausted! But it was so fun. We rode for about 3 and a half hours.
Julie and I were so dirty. We both had more mud showing than skin on our legs and our faces were pretty bad. It was so fun. I vote yes for mountain biking.
