And, of course, on the card was a riddle. A simple number: 43.826249,-111. 784864. Luckily our network was down at work, so my coworkers and I had time to figure out what the riddle was. It is a latitude/longitude for the snowcone shack in Rexburg. I had no idea why Chris would give me that, since the snowcone shack isn't even there in the winter. When he picked me up from work a note was taped to the dash:
Dear Sommer
Welcome to this scavenger hung. In order to find everything you will need various tools to help you on your search.
- GPS
- Google Goggles
- Car
or bike(Depending on the weather) - it's bad - Husband
Perfect, now thta you either have those things or have given your husband that look where you expect him to already have these things we can move on. The scavenger hunt will start with a code. It may look something like this (he forgot to put a picture of the code after that).
Now in order to follow this code you'll need to scan the code with Google goggles (an app on his phone).
So we drove to the snowcone shack location and found a note in a plastic baggy in the snow. It gave me more clues to find another location. I'll just list the places and the clues that lead me to them:
The Austin Building - There are blocks and lines and models and memories
The classroom in the Taylor where Chris brought me chocolate milk every class - Old Testament starts off the right way.
Nauvoo 502 - The first moment only one of us forgot.
(The funny part is, I'm the one who supposedly doesn't remember the first time we met, but Chris put the note next to the wrong room...)
Upper Fields Fence - You gave me one of the lamest nick names I had ever heard.
(Chris jumped a fence during Frisbee like it was nothing, and I called him a gazelle)
The corner of 7th and 5th - My very own slick near miss
(Chris lost control of the car on the ice)
The scary swing - You reminded me of something I didn't forget
(Where I re-invited Chris to come to my Family's for Thanksgiving the second time, because he never answered me the first time.)
Home - It's where my heart is.
The fan we just installed - We are sooooo cool.
The cabinet in the bathroom - This was one of our first projects after we hung out.
The last hint sent me to a website where I had to find out of 3 words which one was on the website and follow the corresponding direction. The last note was in his back pocket. It said: "You Win! I ♥ U!
Then the door bell rang. My Christmas present arrived. Brand new snowboard boots. What a wonderful week late valentines.
