Sommer

Anyone who knows Sommer knows immediately how amazing she is. Sommer is able to make people for cared and loved for. She is intently interested in others and the problems they face. Sommer consistently goes out of her way to help others.

More than a wonderful friend, Sommer is an amazing wife. She has an ever present concern and uses her energy for improving our home, and our time together.

Sommer is incredibly beautiful. She brightens every room she walks into. People notice when Sommer isn't around and her presence is sorely missed at any event.

This girl has a passion for progression. She is dedicated and very creative. She is usually always working on something and if she doesn't have a home/creative project to work on then she is day dreaming of one. She has helped to turn our little house into a wonderful home with a very inviting feel. I am so grateful for all of the little projects she does.

We have so much fun together and the last 3 years, 3 months, 23 days that we've been married have truly been amazing. I love this girl. It's been 4 years, 2 months, 24 days since I first met her and even though I rolled her jeep, had to operate on his toes, and her dad supposedly told me I couldn't marry his daughter (but I remember him saying yes) these last 220 weeks (rounded down) have been the happiest most fulfilling memories I have.

She indulges me when I like something that she doesn't. She goes on little adventures with me all the time. I have so much fun with this amazing girl.

Sommer has so much to share and I learn new things from her each day. I love hearing her stories and the excitement in her voice as she relives all the fun experiences she's had. One of my favorite things is having part in those experiences and hearing her tell others about the fun we have together. I can't say we've done the most amazing things ever, for the most part, but Sommer has so much fun and shares our adventures with such animation and excitement that the stories seem almost surreal...which is exactly how I remember ever moment I've had with her.

Sommer is amazing.

She inspires and supports. She has worked so hard and has made herself a wonderful person. She strives to grow stronger and works on improving herself all the time.

Cabin Trip

Our annual cabin trip was really fun. Here are some of the pictures we got during the trip though.
We always make it down to the Abbot campground bridge. Here's Stoney and Weston climbing down to the river to throw rocks.
It is so insanely pretty.
We had to take a trip up to where the fire was this Summer to see the devastation. It was pretty bad.
The boys took their rock throwing pretty seriously. They rolled two giant boulders into the river, and splashed Weston in the face on accident while throwing large rocks off the bridge.
Calee rode herself to Abbot (almost) on her own little four-wheeler. She did an awesome job.
Weston loves to ride on the four-wheeler. His nose is just a little small for the goggles...
Chris forgot a SD card for his go-pro. So the biggest & prettiest ride we don't have footage of... but we still got some from other stuff.

That is one happy Chris.

Missing Chris

Chris is gone on a school trip for the next few days. The last I got to talk to him was this morning. Now he is out in the wilderness having adventures without cell phone service. Not gonna lie, it is hard even being at work while he's gone. Usually he'll give me a couple calls through the day. It is sucky when I know I'm not going to hear from him. This will be the longest we've been apart since we've been married: 3 nights. But the worst part is that it is 3 nights "in-comunicado".
So while I am missing my wonderful husband, I thought I'd list some the ways he's wonderful.
and in no particular order...

  • He kills all insects for me. He knows my spider scream/squeal and will come running immediately even if he was just in bed, which in that case he might have to get over his head-rush first.
  • He takes me on walks almost daily. I love walks, but I only love them when he is with me. Walks by myself are boring... and lame.
  • He insists on me never taking out the trash or cleaning the toilet. That is his self-proclaimed chore 100% of the time. Enough said.
  • He calls me at work. Sometimes even twice in one hour. I miss hearing from him when he's gone. I don't even know what he have to talk about, but he calls "just to hear my voice".
  • He makes the bed (usually right before I get home) not because he cares that the bed is made, but he knows I love the bed being made.
  • He forces me to sit down after work and snuggle on the couch and talk about our days.
  • He loves Zoi yogurt with me.
  • He yells encouraging things across the field at me when we are playing sports.
  • He tells me I'm beautiful constantly... like really all the time.
  • He lets me be creative, even if my creativity is getting out of control.
  • He is super cute with kids. He loves them and they love him.
  • He lets me be with him all the time, even if it is just a short trip to the store to grab something quick he comes with me just so we can be together.
  • He looks good in all jeans.
  • He wants to have fun with me. He'll even remind me when I'm getting stressed out about life that he is having fun and wants to continue having fun living life together.
  • He helps me relax a little more and have a positive attitude even when we have no clue what is going to happen in the near future (prime time for Sommer to freak out)
  • He will do anything for me, especially if he knows it is important to me. He'll even do things he REALLY REALLY does not want to do. And I make him do that all the time.
  • He is so snugable.

I MISS MY HUSBAND

Fountain Hills

On Friday (our last day) we took a drive out to Fountain Hills for the morning. Rain had come in over night and it was quite the site in the morning. Clouds were laying all over the crazy cool mountains, and the dirt only gets more red when it gets wet. It was a really fun drive.

The fountain goes off every hour, we got there right at 11:30, so we sat in the car while it rained on us and waited. It was rather nice just spending time talking in the car waiting for the fountain.

Desert Oaisis

The place we stayed at was called the Desert Oasis, and it wasn't too shabby. It had a little kitchenette, so we did some grocery shopping so we wouldn't be eating out the whole time. We learned later that the hotplate didn't work as well as a stove, so some of our meals took twice as long to cook. But overall it was a very nice, fancy place and we enjoyed it a lot.

There was a small pool just outside our room. It was more private and didn't allow alcohol so the partiers stayed away. (not like there were any partiers anyways)
One night they had a movie night at the pool. I made Chris take me down just for a few minutes to see.
We spent a lot of time at the pool during the day to cool off.
The larger pool had a giant waterfall into the pool.
There was also a roof-less cave where the hot tub was. There were cactus's up above, that was kinda funny.
We brought our swim shirts for good measure. We DID NOT want to get sunburnt, and we were successful.
So... The place was wonderful. But one night, after crawling into bed (Chris was still walking around) I noticed THIS on Chris's side of the bed! I couldn't even speak well enough to tell him what it was. I was FREAKING out. He obviously noticed something was wrong (I had already flown out of the bed by this point) and he started walking towards the bed. All I could say was "don't touch the covers!". The scorpion was kinda hidden between folds, and I didn't want him to get stung. Chris didn't really want to squish it with his fingers and tissue like how he usually kills bugs, so he cut it in half with scissors. My scorpion-killing hero. I definitely had scorpion dreams that night.
