11 Months

We have a LOT to catch up on. This month Coda and I went to China. Later we all went to the cabin for labor day weekend. But those can have their own separate posts. Today we'll just skip that part :). This month Coda started lots of things. He clicks his tongue, and loves when you do it back. He claps his hands, and even does it when you ask... sometimes. The cutest thing he's started doing is guiding our hands to help him out. Like if there's a button he can't push, he'll grab your finger and guide it right to the button. It's awesome! He's thought about walking, but seems to have decided crawling is faster. He does cruise around holding onto furniture, or one of my hands. He is great at standing. He loves animals, especially dogs and cats. He has added bababah and mama to his vocabulary, although dada and his chewbacca sound are still his favorites.

Coda has become quite the explorer. Most of his more impressive journeys have been to find me. Once, at the Taylors, I was cooking up in the kitchen. Chris was watching Coda down in the living room. There are about 5 steps up from the living room to kitchen, and all the floors are tile. Coda hadn't done stairs before, so I was sure surprised to see him come crawling into the kitchen with a TV remote in one hand. Not only had he climbed the tile stairs, he had done it one handed...

10 Months

This month Coda mastered getting food into his mouth. He loves to use his chompers to eat crunchy things. He now has 7 teeth, working on 8. When he sits in his chair to eat he taps one foot, just like I do when I have to sit still. He loves his sink baths after eating, and has figured out how to aim the nozzle right for his face. He starting to do fun tricks, like smacking his lips, waving, licking his lips, and saying "dada" and "hey". He's also getting braver about standing on his own, especially on soft surfaces like the bed or couch.
Coda loves the water, and we spend a lot of time in it since Vegas is so hot. We found an awesome baby splash pad and Coda had a blast!

9 Months

Boy Coda-man has taken off. He is constantly standing on everything, but he can get himself down now, which is really nice. He goes between things that are fairly close together, like the two ottomans. Chris was behind him once helping him stand and let go of him. Coda's body immediately went rigid, his jaw dropped, eyebrows up, arms out. He looked terrified. He started crying around 10 seconds. Chris let him stand, but had his hands close to catch him. Chris's face looked as surprised as Coda's. Then after nearly 30 seconds Coda wobbled and Chris caught him. Coda loves the microwave, loves rubber ducks, still loathes naps, got his first haircut, and started taking a pacifier better, which is helpful at the gym when he is so sad I abandon him for an hour.
