Elephant Ride

This is an installment of probably a few posts about our {radonculous} vacation in Hong Kong and Bali. So in Bali we got to ride some elephants (guy-d-jah in Balinese). I was SOOO excited to go! We went to the hotel breakfast early in the morning. We still had a couple hour drive to get to the elephants after that. But at breakfast they had lots of these little bananas. I started snagging like 9 or 10 every time I walked by them.

Then I spotted a whole pineapple.  I'm pretty sure it was for decoration... but I grabbed one anyways. I got made fun of... but I knew how awesome it would be later. And I was right. I think feeding the elephants was almost more fun than riding them.

BALI!

So internet is a little slow here... but here are a few pictures of Bali. We just got back from surfing lessons (where we all stood up). It is beautiful and very hot and humid. It is the rainy season, but we've discovered we love the rain, it cools things off and since we're living in our "swigs" we don't mind getting wet. We all have gotten a little burnt, but just on our shoulders, so today we got "pro-fesh" surfing shirts so we wouldn't do any more damage. The money sounds like we're in Zelda land, "rupias". Oh, and I learned how to say "it's raining" in balinese. "oo-john". I don't know how to spell it, but that's how you say it.

Arrived in Hong Kong

So after one 1.5 hour flight to a very stressful connecting flight that lasted something like 11 hours, then after another 5 hour flight, and a little bit of a train ride that I'm pretty sure went under water, then a final ride in a taxi, we made it to Hong Kong. We went to bed at some crazy time last night, and woke up this morning right at 8:00. Today is supposed to be the day we get through our jet lag, so we're just chill-axin. So Chris showed me around these rocks that he used to jump off of in high school right by Pacific View.

What a lucky girl I am.
