A few more Blizzard Pictures

An eventful weekend in Park City. We went down to find some options for living this winter. Good news is we found lots of options. Bad news is we should have taken the Jeep! There was plenty of snow to be had. It snowed our entire trip. We saw some deer, hiked some hills and grabbed lots of classifieds. We were so grateful we did not have to traverse the pass during the night. THANK YOU mom & dad! I don't know if we could have made it.

Chris threw me the camera and said, "I'm in charge of cleaning off the car... you're in charge of documenting". What neither of us knew is how crazy the plow man was. I think he got pretty close to hitting me 2 or 3 times!

Chris loves throwing snowballs at me. The camera was my only save this time.

There was so much snow. The snow was above the bottom of the door, so opening it was fun, seeing all the snow get pushed and leaving a perfectly leveled surface. Here we have the tire barely showing above the snow line. Didn't help our chances the plowman had gone behind and made a nice little wall behind the car. We had fun digging it out.

Park City or Bust

Sommer has an internship near Park City, so here we are in Park City trying to find a place to live for January to April.  We've had a lot of fun looking.  The best part of our trip is that we picked the best time to come!  When we left Rexburg we had heard rumors of a big snow storm.  Well, we found it 10 minutes after leaving Rexburg and drove in it throughout the entire drive.  Luckily we had left early in the morning Saturday so we drove throughout the day and got here in time to check a couple places out.  Here is a pic of a hill we had to drive up.  It had been snowing so much and the temp was 35 degrees, so the snow was slippery.  My car couldnt make it up this hill  :(

You can see wheere we had to turn off because my car stopped and started sliding back.  It just so happened  that there was a drive way to the left of where i stopped.  So we got in there and ended up walking the hill to the place we were looking for.  It was a nice secluded area but it was in Midway and a far drive.

So we stayed at a nice hotel, which made things reeeeal nice and easy for us.  Thanks!  So we woke up and had a nice breakfast and grabbed all the newspapers for the surrounding cities and have been scouring through the classifieds and calling them to try to follow up.  I looked out at my car and was surprised to see almost 2 feet of snow on my car!

Warmth Again!

So after a bitter cold night, we finaly have heat again! Plus the hot water! When we drove to school this morning it was 4 degrees. One of my teachers said it was -2 when he drove to school. We're just happy ours is back on and running!
Helps us remember how lucky we are to have heat. The people who settled places like Rexburg without heated homes were crazy... I guess they had fireplaces though.

A little Cold....

So the Gas company didn't enjoy that we ignored their letters for a week (while we were gone for Thanksgiving) so they decided to turn our gas off today. We're excited for the morning... it'll be WAY cold! But Chris already has the Gas company's number in his phone prepared to call them when they open tomorrow. We would be a little upset, since they never billed us so how were we supposed to know who to pay? but its funny enough that at least for right now we laugh. We'll see how things go in the morning. This will be the first chance I've ever gotten to practice lighting a pilot light after the many times my Dad has explained it to me "just in case".

More Salt Lake Pictures

Here are a few more of our favorites!
We love this picture... I think we look like we could be on a billboard

I cannot believe we got to ride away in a carriage! Little did Mom and Dad King know, but I always wanted to ride in a carriage in Salt Lake ever since I was little. It was perfect.

This could be some sort of movie poster

Steven and Jill voted best faces!

Salt Lake Temple Pictures!

We finally got our picture from our wedding day in salt lake. We were very excited. So here are a few of our favorites (picked out of about 800)... its really hard to pick

Here we are just barely coming out of the Temple. I think we were pretty happy.

This picture is fun not only because of the sweet view of the temple, (and of 2 dang good looking people) but also you can see our shadows kissing on the sidewalk!

I think this is a close "giving the eye" face... Chris got a lot of those.

I love this picture of me and my dad!

I don't know why I love this picture so much... I just think its really cool. I'm glad my legs aren't showing, Julie's tan legs puts everyone to shame!

This is one of our favorite favorite pictures. We want to get this one printed HUGE and put it in our living room.

Chris looks very serious here... but you can see the beautiful pearl necklase from Mom King, and pearl earings from Mom Rice.

Everyone loves Chris... Especially his mom!

Yay! I love this picture. PS Cameo I LOVED my flowers! They look really good in this picture.

The cool boys. Steven has the best "I'm Cool" face.

We thought this picture was fun. A little weird... but still pretty cool. This is in front of the Salk Lake Temple Doors.

The Kitten we saved

One night Chris and I were sitting in our office, working on some homework. (I had convinced Chris to work 1 hour straight on some hard assignment without one distraction). Then we heard it. We tried to ignor it for a few minutes, but the noise got louder. We couldn't tell where it was coming from, so we opened the window. It sounded like it was right outside our window, and it sounded like something was dying. We both thought of our neighbors cat and ran to find coats and shoes. It was FREEZING outside. One of the coldest nights since last winter. We ran to my car to find my flashlight, took a little bit of panic digging to find since my car's dome light doesn't work (we needed a flashlight to find our flashlight). We ran around to the back of our building and a little lump of grey was trying to run to Chris as he picked the little guy up. He felt super cold. We took him up to our place and I sat with him in a blanket until he warmed up. We did a little research and figured he was about 4 weeks old, and too young to be away from his mother. He seemed to be on a constant search, even though his walking skills were less than pro, so we named him Diego after the little boy on dora the explorer (name by Chris). We tried to give him some milk, figuring his constant Meowing had something to do with food. But he couldn't quite figure out the whole milk in a bowl thing. He seemed to be able to smell the milk, go a little crazy, but he'd snort up a bit and start choking. He tried to suck on any skin of ours he could find. Then in frustration he'd start to bite. So we made him a little box and I ran to the store. 1 bag of cheap kitty litter and 1 free syringe later I had the kitten pretty well fed. It still was pretty hard to get him to figure out the syringe, but after a while I figured he'd eaten a lot. Surprizingly the kitten didn't make a noise all night, at least that we could hear. Chris put him in the farthest corner, white board over the box, then blanket, then 2 closed doors with pillows stuffed into the cracks.... so we didn't hear a thing. He was alive in the morning. So I faught some milk down him and we ran him over to our friends LeaDawn and Daniel early in the morning. (nothing was open before we had to be at classes). LeaDawn was nice enough to take care of him, then take him to a bunch of places to see who would take him. Finaly the Four Paws shelter took him in. In the end Chris got his homework done and we saved a kitten.

Oh if we could have a dog... and they didn't cost so much

We decided that if all was perfect... we'd like to get this sweet looking dog! Its a smaller version of a husky called the Alaska Klee Kai. SOO CUTE!

New Editor?

I just found out there's a new Blog Editor from blogspot.  I really didnt like the old one...the one i just had to use to get all my cell pics on.  I mostly didnt like it because it was reeeally difficult to upload and arrange pictures.  So i found this new one (which could have been not so new, just new to me) by clicking on Settings and scrolling down and finding Select Post Editor and then clicking Updated Editor.  Easy enough.  Thats all.

i also got bluray of the new star trek off the net, w00t.  it's our favorite movie right now.  Sommer thinks Kirk is hilarious.  I like Scotty, he's funny.  It's just a good movie i think.  I guess i'm turning into a trekkie, thanks mom

the weeeek....end?

Ok, i got the cell pics finally worked out. yay! Sommer and I have a fun weekend planned or not planned but kinda. We really have no idea whats going on except we're getting in the car at 3pm friday and driving south to visit cam and j in utah. mom and abby will be there so its a big party minus dad. sorry dad. we're excited to see everyone though, im especially excited because (in ranking order of importance to my heart)
1-see mom
2-celebrate the girls birthdays
3-chill with midge
4-celebrate halloween with the boys
5-get my snowboard and new costume

yup. This week however has been tough. Lots of papers and tests with midterms back. I guess midterms are good because you can better gauge what you're going to have to do to get an A. I have B's in all my classes except Chem. I feel like one of us is going to die...chem or me. I wish i had known what i know now because i would have definately dropped chemistry before. drats. Aside from chem and the 5 papers i've had to write this week, things are good.

Sommer and i saved a kitten last night from the bitter cold. It was loud all night so i boxed it up and covered the box and then shut the door and put all our pillows in front of the door to "sound proof" it. I didn't hear it all night, lucky for the cat. We got rid of it this morning by giving it to a friend who's husband is a vet. We named it Diego (the kid from Dora the Explora) because he loved exploring and was obviously not a girl because ... i dont know, i just thought it was more cool to have a boy cat for a night than a girl cat?

Cell Pics

Forewarning: it is way hard to move pictures around here...so bear with me!

I decided to clean off the pictures from my cell phone over these last couple days, so i put them all here. There are a bunch of fun stories and let you in on the life Sommer and I have together! So lets start off with the two pictures of Sommer and I reading...

We decided to go and see "Where the Wild Things Are" so before the movie we went and read the book at the local library. It made the movie a lot more fun because they used the exact characters and their looks from the book. The coolest part was that through the very simple book and illustrations you could pick up hints and trends through multiple pages that gave insight to the attitudes and personalities of the individual monsters in the movie. We both loved the movie and had a blast together! We went with our neighbors Hillary and Brian, before we saw the movie we went to a local chinese place called New Fongs. The menus there had a pic of the Great Wall so i got to talk a little about running the steps there and how fun it was.

This one i took while in the Austin Building on campus (that's
where all the architecture nerds go). I saw this one guy TOWERING over this other real short guy. The one was so tall that my head came to his shoulder and the short one came up to my shoulder. They seemed to be good friends though...the situation made me giggle though.

This is a craft we saw somewhere, i dont remember where but
no matter where the point it makes is a true and everlasting principle of the gospel.

So the stuff made into a tower is a real good story. Sommer and i were eating in the newly renovated and updated Galley, now it's called the Crossroads and is huuuuge and real real nice. So we're eating there and Sommer bet that i couldnt stack those 3 things on top of eachother. High stakes...and i did it. One more testimony that i rock.

The scores here are from a little game called Mr. Ooh! on my touch. Sommer got the one that is currently in second place but when she got it, she was first. She held first for a looong time but this pic shows where i came and STOMPED her. Oh yea. But it did take me forever to accomplish that =\

This one with the sweet shades is from my chem class. We were looking at the different colors that come from lights and such. Waves, frequencies, blabla.

This is my beautiful work station at close in KFC. I am the unofficial official chief head dish cleanliness technician engineer.

This is a sweet Halloween costume for ellie.

I found Zoe in Rexburg...i didnt know what to do with him so i put him in the pound. Just kidding, it was our RS Pres's cat.

I took Sommer out for a nice drive one friday and we headed for Grand Targhee to see how their snow looks and such. Once we got there we were pleasantly surprised to find a 20ft flame at the base of Targhee. We guessed that they were burning old gas and putting new gas in (they had the gas tanker truck right there on the left of the pic)

I found the perfect place to shop for the midge!!!!

Elf Boy!!! We found him at WinCo and thought his ears were huuuuge!

Here is our former cat Figaro, aw so cute! We got rid of him after 1 day. Sommer said he was stinky and i didn't mind. Oh, so cute!

Here is another sweet shot of me at KFC furthering the Colonel's work.

The Brave Little Pinky! My pinky hurt so bad but she was asleep so i didnt move it, but it hurt bad!

My painting that i entered in the Boise Fair or Western Idaho Fair or whatever... i didnt get placed. boo.

Sommer and i (with some friends) made boats out of sticks, glue, and leaves. Sommer also used a flower. We raced them down our canal and followed them bridge by bridge (like Winnie the Pooh). Sommer's started off in last place and was there forever but her's ended up winning. Mine was a canoe, i spent the most time on mine. Mine fell in the water and capsized, but if it had stayed right side up i would have dominated. Everyone else's stick boats were like Tom Sawyer boats...ghetto!

Saw this at Hollywood, it made me laugh. Sommer wouldnt let me rent it, darn.

After a dentist appointment.

This was Julie in the game Zombies, she lost here. If you roll 1,2,3 you die. She rolled a 1. Dead Julie.

Another funny one at Hollywood.

My room mate made a big mistake trying to trim the back of my head.....

Sommer's window when i wrecked her car.

This is Mesa Falls from my phone in the winter. It was cold and we had just hiked 3 miles in deep snow so i was in a little bit of a rush (plus the sun was setting and we still had another 3 miles to hike, alone (well with Sommer))

The sign to Mesa Falls.
